Karen Stintz and her gang of ‘Downtown Toronto First’ supporters have finally claimed victory over the suburbs, especially Scarborough. Under the guise of avoiding excessive expense, they have successfully destroyed any hope that suburbs like Scarborough will ever get much wanted and needed subways. The center of Toronto has plenty of subway service, so they feel no need to spend funds on the suburbs where they have no interest. As for the three Scarborough Councillors who followed Stintz, they’re merely following the path of least resistance in pursuit of their political careers. Scarborough, North York and Etobicoke will be little more than Toronto’s very own third world countries. How nice. We in the suburbs get third rate transit and nothing to attract new businesses. No wonder the rest of Canada hates Toronto!
